Mayo lightweight Ray Moylett wrote another illustrious chapter in the history of the Irish Amateur Boxing Association after being crowned World Youth 60Kg champion in Guadalajara, Mexico on Saturday night.
The 18-year-old, from the St Anne's club in Westport, beat 2006 World Cadet champion Daniyar Yeleussino of Kazakhstan 3-1 over four rounds to seal an historic victory for Ireland.
In two of his four fights in Mexico, the Westport teenager beat Welsh 2007 European Cadet champion Fred Evans and Cuban National Youth champion Juan Garcia.

The 21-year-old world featherweight bronze medallist, who also complained about the scoring at the Olympics, lost 16-3 to Ireland's David Oliver Joyce.

David Oliver Joyce was well worth the 16-3 defeat of Joe Murray in the European Amateur Championships in Liverpool on Sunday - that's according to his coach Dominic O'Rourke.
The Irishman outclassed his opponent, despite going over in the first round due to a slip, and Murray did not score an actual point until the final round, with two of his three points going in his favour because Joyce was penalised for a low blow.
He said: "Joe might have got a few points from body shots but the result was fair.
Murray was left inconsolable after what he thought were some bad point scoring decisions, he said: "The kid looks worse than me.
